Spain take on Uruguay at Estadio Akron in Guadalajara on Saturday morning, with kickoff at 02:00 CAT in the final round of Group H. Spain have been the standout side in the group and a draw would seal top spot, while Uruguay need a win to be sure of their place in the Round of 32. Spain

Spain have looked the part this World Cup, following a goalless draw with Cape Verde by sweeping Saudi Arabia aside four goals to nil. Pedri and Rodri control the tempo and Lamine Yamal has been a constant threat down the right. They have not conceded a goal yet and Mikel Oyarzabal is in fine form with two goals in Spain’s last game. With qualification all but secured, I expect Luis de la Fuente to name a strong side as they chase top spot.

Uruguay

Uruguay have drawn both of their matches and have looked vulnerable at the back, conceding in each game. Marcelo Bielsa will demand they take the game to Spain, and Federico Valverde and Darwin Nunez carry the main threat. Maxi Araujo has chipped in with two goals and gives them width. My read on this is that Uruguay will have to be brave, and that openness could play into Spain hands.

Predicted Lineup: Muslera; Varela, Caceres, Olivera, Sanabria; Bentancur, Ugarte; Canobbio, Valverde, Araujo; Vinas.

Spain have the quality to control this and Uruguay cannot afford to sit back, which should make for an open contest. I expect Spain to take the lead and for Uruguay to respond, but the gap in form and quality points to just one result. My forecast: Spain 2 Uruguay 1.

I am backing both teams to score. Uruguay have found the net in both group games and will be forced to attack, while Spain are scoring freely. With Uruguay committing men forward and Spain clinical in front of goal, I expect goals at each end and 1.97 is a fair price.
