France vs England Best Odds

France meet England at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami in the 2026 FIFA World Cup third place playoff, with kickoff at 23:00 CAT on Saturday. Didier Deschamps' France will look to sign off with a win after their semi-final exit, with Kylian Mbappe still chasing the Golden Boot, while Thomas Tuchel's England aim to end a long tournament on a high led by Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham. BettingTop10 South Africa will have this bronze medal match covered before all eyes turn to Sunday's world cup finals between Spain and Argentina. France vs England Analysis

France

France reached the last four with a ruthless, counter attacking approach built around Kylian Mbappe, who arrives level at the top of the scoring charts and has the clearest personal incentive to perform in this one. In my opinion Deschamps will still want to finish third and is likely to keep Mbappe and Michael Olise involved, even if he freshens up elsewhere after a demanding run to the semi-finals. Aurelien Tchouameni has been managing a groin problem through the knockouts, so some rotation in midfield would be no surprise. My read on this is that France carry too much attacking quality for England if Mbappe starts and stays switched on.

Predicted Lineup: Maignan; Kounde, Saliba, Upamecano, Digne; Tchouameni, Rabiot; Dembele, Olise, Barcola; Mbappe.

England

England showed real resilience under Thomas Tuchel throughout the knockouts, riding the brilliance of Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane, but they conceded in every knockout game and looked vulnerable at the back – never more so than in the dying minutes against Argentina in the semi-final. Reece James has battled a hamstring issue and Jarrell Quansah an ankle problem earlier in the run, so Tuchel may protect some players and rotate for this game. From my point of view the attacking talent is there to hurt any defence, yet the same defensive frailties that undid England in the semi-final remain a genuine worry. I expect goals at both ends if both managers send out adventurous sides.

Predicted Lineup: Pickford; James, Stones, Guehi, Spence; Rice, Anderson; Rogers, Bellingham, Gordon; Kane.

France vs England Prediction

I expect an open, end to end contest between two attacking sides with little defensive caution in a third place playoff. Both teams have leaked goals in the knockouts, and with Mbappe, Kane and Bellingham all likely to feature there should be goals in this one. I fancy France to edge it thanks to the extra cutting edge of Mbappe. My forecast: France 2 England 1.

BTTS: Yes (1.42)

I am backing Both Teams to Score Yes at 1.42, and my read on this is that both defences have looked penetrable at times in recent games. England conceded in every knockout match, while France will likely field an attacking side with nothing to lose in a game with only a consolation prize on offer. With this much firepower on show, I fully expect both nets to be found.
