The Netherlands meet Sweden at NRG Stadium in Houston on Saturday, with kickoff at 19:00 CAT. Sweden lead Group F after a stunning opening win in which they scored five times, while the Netherlands were held to a draw by Japan and know that a win here is close to essential. Ronald Koeman's side have the talent to take control, but Sweden carry a fearsome strike pairing in Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres. Netherlands

The Netherlands were frustrated in their opener and from my point of view Koeman's side were guilty of switching off defensively when they twice let a lead slip against Japan. Virgil van Dijk needs to marshal the back line more strictly, especially against the pace Sweden carry in behind. Going forward they have plenty of threats, with Cody Gakpo, Tijjani Reijnders and Memphis Depay all capable of unlocking a defence, and Frenkie de Jong dictating from deep. There are no fresh injury concerns and I expect a much sharper performance from a side that has to win.

Sweden

Sweden could hardly have asked for a better start and my read on this is that the partnership of Isak and Gyokeres makes them a threat against anyone. Both forwards are in the form of their lives and are capable of making any defence in the world sweat. The Swedish defence held firm in the opener and Victor Lindelof brings the experience to organise a back line that will be tested far more here. With three points already banked, Sweden will be brimming with confidence in the knowledge that even a draw would leave them in a commanding position.

Predicted Lineup: Nordfeldt; Hien, Lagerbielke, Lindelof; Bernhardsson, Karlstrom, Ayari, Gudmundsson; Nygren; Gyokeres, Isak.

Both sides carry serious attacking threat and I expect an open game with chances at both ends. The Netherlands have the greater all round quality and will be confident they can sneak over the line, but Sweden will back themselves to score. My forecast: Netherlands 2 Sweden 1.

I am backing Both Teams to Score and my read on this is that neither defence looks watertight enough to keep their opponent goalless. The Netherlands managed two against Japan, while Sweden have Isak and Gyokeres firing and the Dutch attack is far too strong to be kept quiet. At 1.83 this is the standout source of value on the board.
