Netherlands take on Morocco at Estadio BBVA in Monterrey on Tuesday, with kickoff at 03:00 CAT in this 2026 World Cup Round of 32 tie. Ronald Koeman's side won Group F with seven points and a flurry of goals, while Morocco reached the last 32 as Group C runners up after pushing Brazil all the way. This has the makings of an absorbing knockout tie between two in form sides. For all our World Cup betting tips, head to our dedicated section.
Netherlands vs Morocco Analysis
Netherlands
Netherlands topped Group F in style, drawing with Japan before thrashing Sweden 5-1 and beating Tunisia 3-1, and in my opinion Koeman has one of the most balanced sides left in the draw. Brian Brobbey has taken his chance through the middle with a brace against Sweden, and with Cody Gakpo and Donyell Malen either side the front three carries real punch. Denzel Dumfries and Brobbey both shook off minor knocks and are available, while Micky van de Ven could return at left back. My read on this is that the Dutch will dominate possession and force Morocco to defend for long spells.
Predicted Lineup: Verbruggen; Dumfries, Van Dijk, Van Hecke, Van de Ven; Gravenberch, De Jong, Reijnders; Malen, Brobbey, Gakpo.
Morocco
Morocco were the standout story of Group C, holding Brazil to a draw, edging Scotland and then beating Haiti 4-2 to finish second on seven points. From my point of view Mohamed Ouahbi has a side that defends with real organisation and breaks at pace through captain Achraf Hakimi. Ismael Saibari has been the find of their group with three goals in three games, and with Brahim Diaz pulling the strings there is genuine quality in the final third. Ouahbi rested several starters against Haiti, so I expect Noussair Mazraoui and Azzedine Ounahi to return to the starting lineup for this one.
Predicted Lineup: Bounou; Hakimi, Diop, Riad, Mazraoui; El Aynaoui, Bouaddi; Brahim, Ounahi, El Khannouss; Saibari.
Netherlands vs Morocco Prediction
Netherlands have the sharper cutting edge and I expect their front three to find a way through a disciplined Moroccan block. Morocco do, however, carry enough on the counter through Hakimi and Saibari to get on the scoresheet, so I am not expecting a comfortable evening for Koeman. I do think the Dutch edge it in a match with goals at both ends. My forecast: Netherlands 2 Morocco 1.
Netherlands vs Morocco Best Bet
BTTS: Yes (1.89)
I am backing both teams to score and my read on this is that neither defence keeps this one clean. Netherlands have scored in every game and Morocco found the net in all but one of their group fixtures, with Saibari in excellent form. With Hakimi flying forward and the Dutch committing numbers, I expect chances to fall at both ends.
