Ghana vs England Best Odds

Ghana host England at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough on Tuesday, with kickoff at 22:00 CAT in this Group L Matchday 2 fixture. Ghana arrive on three points after Caleb Yirenkyi struck in stoppage time to beat Panama 1-nil, while England top the group on goal difference following a chaotic 4-2 win over Croatia in which Harry Kane scored twice. Both sides won their openers, so a result here goes a long way toward securing a spot in the knockout stages. For all our World Cup betting tips, head to our dedicated section.
Ghana vs England Analysis
Ghana
Ghana sit on three points but their opener flattered them, as it took a 95th minute Yirenkyi goal to break down a stubborn Panama. The bigger problem for me is creativity: Mohammed Kudus is out of the tournament injured, leaving captain Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo and potentially Inaki Williams to carry the attacking burden against a far stronger opponent. I expect Carlos Queiroz to set up in a compact block and look to hit England on the break through Semenyo and co. In my opinion Ghana will struggle to create clear chances and may be forced to defend deep for long spells.
Predicted Lineup: Ati-Zigi; Senaya, Adjetey, Opoku, Mensah; Yirenki, Owusu; Sulemana, Nuamah, Semenyo; Ayew.
England
England were ruthless in front of goal against Croatia, with Kane scoring twice to equal Gary Lineker's England World Cup tally and Bellingham and Rashford adding the others. Thomas Tuchel came through that game with no injuries or suspensions, so he has a fully fit squad and the freedom to rotate fresh legs such as Eze, Saka and Watkins if he wants. My read on this is that England carry far too much quality across the pitch for a Ghana side missing its main creator. Though a draw would be enough to keep them in control of the group, I still expect England to push for the win and the goal difference that could decide top spot.
Predicted Lineup: Pickford; James, Stones, Konsa, O’Reilly; Rice, Anderson; Madueke, Bellingham, Gordon; Kane.
Ghana vs England Prediction
England have more quality in every area of the pitch and face a Ghana team that managed only one stoppage time goal against Panama and is without Kudus. I expect Tuchel's side to control possession, score early and add to their lead as Ghana chase the game late on. My forecast: Ghana 0 England 3.
Ghana vs England Best Bet
BTTS: No (1.55)
Ghana created very little in open play against Panama and lack even more bite than they would otherwise with Kudus absent, so I am backing them to be kept off the scoresheet here. England conceded twice against an attacking Croatia, but Ghana do not carry the same firepower and Tuchel can shore things up with his fully fit squad. For me BTTS: No at 1.55 is the value play, as I expect a comfortable England win to nil.
