World Cup 2026 France vs Morocco
France vs Morocco Best Odds
* Odds from Betway, correct at time of writing.
France take on Morocco at Gillette Stadium near Boston, kickoff at 22:00 CAT on Thursday, in a quarter final that reprises their 2022 semi-final, which France won by two goals to nil. Didier Deschamps' side have won all five matches so far and have not conceded in the knockout rounds, with Kylian Mbappe again leading the way with three goals in those two games. Morocco have been unbeaten in normal time throughout the tournament, beating Canada to reach the last eight, and they will fancy their chances of another famous scalp. It's a rematch BettingTop10 South Africa flagged the moment the draw was made. For all our World Cup betting tips, head to our dedicated section.
Francs vs Morocco Analysis
France
France have been ruthless so far at this World Cup, winning every game and scoring 14 goals while conceding just twice, with Kylian Mbappe scoring in both knockout wins to move to 19 career World Cup goals. Deschamps has leaned on a solid, disciplined shape that lets his front players counter at pace, and the depth on his bench has allowed him to rotate without dropping standards. There are fitness doubts over Marcus Thuram and Aurelien Tchouameni, who both missed the last 16 win over Paraguay, so their availability is worth watching. Regardless, in my opinion France are the most complete team left and should have too much for Morocco.
Predicted Lineup: Maignan; Kounde, Upamecano, Saliba, Digne; Kone, Rabiot; Dembele, Olise, Barcola; Mbappe.
Morocco
Morocco have been superbly organised, reaching the quarter finals on the back of a low block and a lethal counter attack, having beaten 3-0 Canada despite taking very few shots. Achraf Hakimi drives them forward from right back and Azzedine Ounahi is in fine form, while goalkeeper Bounou has already won one shootout at this tournament. They will be without the injured Ismael Saibari, but their defensive structure and belief make them dangerous opponents for anyone. My read on this is that Morocco will look to soak up pressure and strike on the break.
Predicted Lineup: Bounou; Hakimi, Diop, Masina, Mazraoui; El Aynaoui, Bouaddi; Diaz, Ounahi, El Khannous; Rahimi.
France vs Morocco Prediction
France carry the greater quality but Morocco's discipline and their record of frustrating big teams point to a controlled, low scoring win rather than a rout. I expect France to break through and keep another clean sheet, much as they did in 2022. My forecast: France 2 Morocco 0.
France vs Morocco Best Bet
BTTS: No (1.79)
France have not conceded in either knockout match and Morocco have scored only when on top, relying on a cautious approach against the better sides. With Morocco set up to defend deep and France's back line in good order, I am backing both teams to score to land on no at 1.79.
